Workload and earnings
Decision boundary: this is an internal cost and capacity calculation—not a country, subject, qualification or platform benchmark. It does not measure client affordability or guarantee bookings. Check real current quotes and applicable tax rules before publishing a price.
Interpretation
What each output tells you
Session revenue
The total the lesson must collect across all learners to support the entered monthly plan.
Per-learner quote
Session revenue divided by group size. It assumes every listed learner pays.
Client hourly equivalent
The per-learner session quote scaled to 60 billed minutes. It excludes unbilled time from the denominator.
Effective work-hour earnings
Revenue after entered business costs and reserves divided by lesson, prep, admin and travel time.
FAQ
Tutoring quote questions
Is this a recommended market rate?
No. It is a cost-based planning result derived entirely from your entries. Obtain comparable quotes for the same format, location and learner needs separately.
Why is a reserve divided out of revenue?
If a percentage of collected revenue must be set aside, the remaining share has to cover your income target and costs. The calculator therefore divides those needs by one minus the combined reserve percentage.
Does a group automatically make tutoring more profitable?
No. The tool divides required session revenue across the entered learner count, but it does not model extra marking, communication, materials, collection risk or learners who leave.
What should I do if clients will not accept the quote?
Review costs, workload, group size, income target or scope. Do not hide essential work or promise outcomes. A plan may simply be commercially infeasible at the price clients will pay.
