Parental leave pay planning calculator

Turn a current official leave rule and employer policy into a dated pay-planning estimate. Country navigation is available for all 54 African nations; verify eligibility and payer rules before action.

HR

Leave planning workbench

Enter the leave days and pay replacement rate from a current official national publication, compare an employer policy, and export a payroll-review summary. The World Bank snapshot below is a research lead only, not proof of current law.

Methodology, workflow, and next steps

Calculation methodology: the tool converts monthly gross pay to a planning daily value by dividing by 30.4375, applies the verified minimum days and replacement rate you enter, and compares the employee request with the employer policy target. The divisor is an average-calendar-month planning convention, not a statutory payroll rule.

HR workflow: confirm employee category, service length, start date, birth or adoption timing, social insurance claim process, and collective agreement; then agree any employer top-up and keep the exported summary in the payroll handoff packet.

Next steps: use the Employee Cost Calculator, Payslip Generator, Compliance Calendar, and HR and Payroll hub to continue the workflow.

Sources, freshness, and disclaimer

Your national official source

Use the labour ministry, official gazette, social-insurance authority, or legislation portal for the current duration, eligibility, replacement rate, payer, caps, and effective date. Record the exact source above.

Confidence boundary

Confidence depends on source date and whether eligibility, payer, caps, service, adoption, multiple birth, medical extension, collective agreement, and employer top-up rules were checked.

Disclaimer: this is a planning estimate only. It is not legal advice, payroll certification, tax advice, medical advice, social security filing, or an official government calculator. Verify current law, eligibility, benefit caps, payer rules, and employer policy with qualified professionals and official sources before action.

Separate verified rules from employer policy

Use the country routes for context, but build the canonical estimate only from the dated official-rule values and employer-policy values you enter. This prevents an old research snapshot from silently becoming a payroll decision.

Disclaimer: Planning estimate only. Verify current law, eligibility, payer, caps, tax, social-insurance claim steps, contract, collective agreement, and employer policy before action.
