Confirm tariff math, verify meter readings, then find appliance-level usage.
Africa's most comprehensive energy calculators. From electricity tariffs to solar ROI, generator fuel costs to mini-grid feasibility — powered by real local data across 54 countries.
Start with the question in front of you, then follow the linked calculators as one workflow. Each energy app now gives scenario presets, clear assumptions, saved dashboard reports, and PDF exports for quotes, disputes, procurement, or project sharing.
Confirm tariff math, verify meter readings, then find appliance-level usage.
Quantify fuel spend, compare solar ownership, then size critical backup.
Make a load list and ROI estimate before talking to installers.
Turn downtime into a purchase case for backup or hybrid power.
Model productive demand, irrigation economics, and emissions impact.
Tariff rates are sourced from published utility company schedules and government regulatory bodies. They are updated regularly. Some countries have complex tiered or DisCo-based pricing — we reflect the most common residential rates. For billing disputes, always use official utility statements.
Solar ROI uses your country's average peak sun hours, local grid tariff (what you'd otherwise pay), and estimated system installation cost in local currency. The payback period is the time until cumulative savings equal the installation cost. Panel output degrades ~0.5%/year — our 25-year projections account for this.
Pay-As-You-Go (PAYGO) solar allows customers to access solar home systems by paying a small deposit and then small weekly payments via mobile money — without needing a bank loan. After the payment period (typically 18–36 months), the customer owns the system outright.
Fuel consumption estimates use standard engineering figures: diesel generators consume approximately 0.28 litres per kWh at 75% load. Actual consumption depends on generator brand, age, load factor, and fuel quality. Our figures are conservative (slightly higher) to avoid underestimating costs.
