What this home energy carbon estimate does — and does not do
The calculator multiplies your monthly grid electricity, diesel, LPG, and biomass use by the four fixed factors shown with the result. Use bills, meter readings, fuel receipts, or cylinder weights instead of rough guesses where possible.
Planning boundary: the country selector converts the illustrative offset cost into local currency; it does not provide a country-specific grid factor. The result excludes transport, food, purchased goods, refrigerants, upstream fuel emissions, equipment manufacture, and non-CO₂ biomass effects. Do not use it as a formal emissions inventory.

Are the electricity emissions country-specific?
No. This protected planning model uses one fixed grid factor of 0.48 kg CO₂ per kWh for every listed country. Country selection changes the local offset-cost currency only.
How should I choose a reduction target?
Use recent bills, meter readings, fuel receipts, or cylinder weights. The planner identifies the largest modeled source and shows the effect of reducing that one source by 10%, 25%, or 50%.
Can I use this result as a formal emissions inventory?
No. It is a screening estimate with fixed factors. Formal reporting needs current location-specific electricity factors, defined organizational boundaries, and reviewed fuel and biomass methods.
