The PDF to Audio reader turns PDFs into a guided listening workspace. Browser voice mode keeps everything private on your device, while AI voice mode can use a configured server provider for more natural voices and downloadable audio. The reader includes sentence tracking, page navigation, text cleanup, pronunciation fixes, bookmarks, and export tools for students, professionals, researchers, and accessibility workflows.

Frequently Asked Questions

Browser voice mode does not upload your PDF. AI voice mode sends only the current text chunk to the configured server voice provider when you choose that mode, so the page labels that difference clearly.
Browser voices come from your operating system and browser, so quality varies. The reader ranks natural, neural, enhanced, online, and premium voices first when they are available. For consistently modern voices, configure the AI voice gateway.
This tool extracts text from PDF text layers. Scanned PDFs that contain only images won't have extractable text. For scanned documents, use our PDF OCR tool first to add a text layer, then use this tool to listen.
Text export works in browser mode. Downloadable audio is available after AI voice generation, because browser speech engines do not expose an audio file for download.
Yes. When auto-advance is enabled, the tool automatically moves to the next page when the current page finishes reading. It stops after the last page. You can also manually navigate between pages using the skip buttons.
