Person photos can use the optional in-browser model. Products, logos, signatures, and flat-lay shots usually work better with edge cleanup or color keying.
Brush edits update the mask immediately. Use restore when hair, fabric, product corners, or signature strokes are removed by mistake.
Transparent PNG and WebP keep alpha. JPG uses the selected solid background so the export does not flatten to black.
Most background tools are excellent when the subject is obvious, then frustrating when a shadow, white product, hair edge, signature line, or busy corner gets misread. AfroTools keeps the one-click path, but adds the controls people need to finish the job: smart edge cleanup for plain backgrounds, global color keying for logos and signatures, optional AI person segmentation for portraits, and manual erase or restore brushes for the last five percent.
No. The image is drawn to browser canvas and processed on your device. If you choose AI person cutout, the browser may download TensorFlow.js and BodyPix model files, but your photo is not sent to AfroTools.
Use smart edge cleanup for products or objects on a plain background, color keying for signatures and logos, and AI person cutout for portraits. After that, use erase and restore brushes to correct edge mistakes.
Yes. PNG and WebP can preserve transparent backgrounds. JPG does not support alpha, so the studio uses your selected solid background for JPG exports.
