A West African mini-video competition on free movement and migration has extended its submission deadline to August 31, 2026. Ghana's Information Services Department published the update on August 7 on behalf of Media Response.
The call is open to journalists, content creators, communications officers, activists and interested citizens. Entrants are asked to produce short videos about the benefits, opportunities and realities of regional mobility within the ECOWAS region.
The official notice points creators toward real-life stories involving migration, cross-border trade, education, entrepreneurship, cultural exchange and regional integration. It says entries will be assessed on creativity, relevance to the theme, storytelling, accuracy and overall impact.
The competition follows digital content creation and mini-video blogging workshops held in Ghana's Western, Volta and Upper East regions under the Reframing Narratives on Free Movement and Migration in West Africa project. The notice says winning videos will receive prizes and be showcased through project communication and public engagement channels, but it does not publish prize amounts.
