The Southern African Music Rights Organisation opened applications for its 2026 Music Creation Support Fund on September 1. The programme is allocating R3 million and plans to support 120 eligible members with grants of up to R25,000 each.
The call is limited to Full and Associate SAMRO members. Funding can support qualifying projects that create new, original and royalty-generating work, including albums, singles, compositions, music videos and scores, subject to the programme criteria and funding guidelines.
SAMRO says applicants should have a well-developed and achievable project. The fund is intended to help creators move work from the idea stage toward completion and commercial release, but an application does not guarantee an award.
