Digital Virgo announced Hekaya Shorts on July 21, 2026 as a mobile entertainment platform focused on short-form drama from Morocco. The company says the service was developed with Moroccan producer Mehdi Chougrad and places locally produced originals at the centre of its catalogue.
At launch, Digital Virgo reported 19 series and more than 800 episodes, including six Moroccan original productions in Darija. Episodes are presented vertically and run for less than two minutes. The service also includes international short dramas, multilingual subtitles, watchlists and swipe-based navigation.
The creator-economy signal is the investment in local writing, production and on-screen talent rather than only importing an existing catalogue. Digital Virgo says the Moroccan originals cover locally familiar themes and are intended to support opportunities for writers, producers and other creative workers. Those catalogue and product figures are company claims from the launch announcement, not independent audience or revenue measurements.
The Hekaya App Store listing identifies Digital Virgo France as the provider and shows the app as available in Morocco.
