AFWL starts its 2026 week with creator mentorship
Africa Fashion Week London's official 2026 programme schedules a DJ workshop led by Nigerian artist and AFWL mentor Cuppy for Monday, August 17. The workshop opens a programme running from August 17 to 23 across music, fashion, education and creative enterprise.
AFWL says the launch-day session is designed to give emerging music talent mentorship, industry insight and practical guidance. Its separate official Cuppy announcement says she will join the aspiring DJ programme across multiple groups and offer direct advice and encouragement.
A two-part collaboration
The mentorship workshop is the first of Cuppy's two scheduled AFWL appearances. The official programme also lists her for a live set before the 7pm VIP catwalk showcase on Saturday, August 22, alongside a special musical appearance by Seyi Shay.
Between those dates, AFWL and the British Council plan three days of seminars, panels, designer surgeries and networking. The programme identifies Creative DNA participants from Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Ghana and Nigeria, with sessions covering fashion business, sustainability, AI and design innovation, international collaboration and creative entrepreneurship.
