Yaounde creator forum links digital storytelling with peacebuilding

Cameroon's youth ministry reports on the September 29-30 Creatives4Peace forum, with a participant account describing inclusive digital learning discussions.

Cameroon's Ministry of Youth Affairs and Civic Education published an October 2 report on the Creatives4Peace Youth Forum in Yaounde. The ministry identifies the September 29-30 gathering at Hotel Djeuga Palace as a UNDP and Samsung Generation17 initiative connecting creative industries with peace, inclusion and social cohesion. This is a report on a completed September event, rather than an invitation to register.

The ministry's account describes a programme spanning youth creative projects, financing, skills, digital platforms, storytelling and intellectual property. For African creators, that places production and distribution skills alongside the conditions needed to sustain creative work. The report describes an effort to develop recommendations; it does not establish that funding was awarded or that new policies have already taken effect.

A separate October 1 account from Fondazione Santagata, a participating organisation, reports that the forum took place on September 29 and 30. It identifies Giulia Avanza's contribution to the September 30 discussion on digital platforms and creative innovation. The foundation describes a focus on accessible learning pathways for young women, rural youth and marginalised groups. Those are the participant's account of the discussion, rather than measured employment outcomes.

The organiser's September 27 UNDP announcement provides the original programme context. It framed the forum around youth economic opportunity, cultural expression and technology, with preliminary research intended to inform policy. The announcement is kept distinct from the later ministry and participant reports.

Creators following the initiative can use the linked primary reports to check what was discussed and look for any subsequently published recommendations. Neither this item nor the cited reports should be treated as an open grant application, an offer of paid work or a promise of platform monetisation. Any later opportunity needs its own current eligibility rules, deadline and official application route.
