Africa Rising Music Conference has expanded its 2026 Johannesburg programme with Uganda and Australia named as official focus countries, a new strategic partnership with the Southern African Music Rights Organisation, and a Community Access Pledge aimed at emerging artists and music entrepreneurs.
The conference is scheduled for May 22 and 23, 2026 at Constitution Hill in Johannesburg. ARMC's April 9 announcement says the Uganda delegation will be led by Amplify Ugandan Music Expo, while Australia joins as a focus country for the first time. The same update says additional delegates from the United Kingdom are supported by PRS Foundation, with participation also expected from Germany, the United States and Sweden.
For creators, the practical signal is market access. ARMC is positioning the 2026 edition as a meeting point for artists, executives and cultural leaders who need cross-border industry relationships, not just performance slots. The newly announced speakers include TRESOR, Janesh, Hitboss SA and Brenda Mtambo. ARMC describes Janesh and Hitboss SA as two figures connected to the emerging Lekompo sound, while Brenda Mtambo is expected to bring artist wellbeing and mental health into the industry conversation.
The Community Access Pledge is the strongest creator-support detail in the update. ARMC says brands and organisations can pledge tickets that will then be distributed through partner initiatives including Bridges for Music, shesaid.so South Africa, The Cradle Crew and BTCH$ LUV. That gives the programme a direct access lane for young artists and entrepreneurs who may not otherwise be able to attend.
