The TAN (Tax Account Number) is issued by the Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA) in Mauritius. Registration is free and typically takes 1-3 business days. All businesses operating in Mauritius and individuals in formal employment are required to register for a TAN. The TAN is a 8-digit numeric identifier needed for tax filing, business bank accounts, government contracts, and customs clearance.
