The TIN (Tax Identification Number) is issued by the Ministry of Revenues (MoR) in Ethiopia. Registration is free and typically takes 1-3 business days. Ethiopia offers online TIN registration through the MoR portal, making the process accessible from anywhere. The TIN is governed by the Income Tax Proclamation No. 979/2016; Tax Administration Proclamation No. 983/2016 and administered by the Ministry of Revenues.
All businesses operating in Ethiopia and individuals in formal employment are required to register for a TIN.
