TIN Registration in Algeria — Complete Guide

The NIF (Numéro d'Identification Fiscale) is issued by the Direction Générale des Impôts (DGI) in Algeria. Registration is free and typically takes 3-5 business days. Algeria offers online TIN registration through the DGI portal, making the process accessible from anywhere. The TIN is governed by the Code des Procédures Fiscales; Loi de Finances and administered by the Ministry of Finance.

All businesses operating in Algeria and individuals in formal employment are required to register for a NIF. The NIF is a 15-digit numeric identifier needed for tax filing, business bank accounts, government contracts, and customs clearance. Failure to register carries penalties: fine of DZD 10,000 to DZD 100,000 for failure to register.
