Frequently Asked Questions

How are fuel prices determined?
We pre-fill approximate current pump prices for each country. Prices vary by region and station. You can always edit the price field to match your local fuel cost.
What do PMS, AGO, and DPK mean?
PMS is Premium Motor Spirit (petrol/gasoline), AGO is Automotive Gas Oil (diesel), and DPK is Dual Purpose Kerosene. These are the standard Nigerian fuel classifications used across West Africa.
How is generator fuel consumption estimated?
We estimate burn rate at roughly 0.3 litres per hour per kVA at 75% load for petrol generators, and 0.22 L/hr/kVA for diesel. Actual consumption depends on load, age, and maintenance of the generator.
What is a typical fuel consumption for cars?
Small cars: 6-8 L/100km. Sedans: 8-12 L/100km. SUVs: 10-15 L/100km. Trucks: 15-25 L/100km. You can also enter consumption as km/L or MPG.
Does this account for traffic and driving conditions?
No. This is an estimate based on average rated fuel consumption. City driving with traffic typically uses 20-30% more fuel than highway driving. Adjust your consumption figure accordingly.
