Terms of Service

By accessing and using AfroTools.com ("the Platform"), you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must discontinue use of the Platform immediately.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and subscribers of AfroTools, including users of free tools, AfroTools Pro subscribers, and API consumers. Your continued use of AfroTools following any updates to these Terms constitutes acceptance of such changes.

AfroTools provides free and premium online financial calculators, PDF document tools, productivity utilities, and AI-powered advisory features designed for users across Africa. All free tools are available without registration or payment. Core calculators will always remain free.

AfroTools tools are provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis for informational and educational purposes only. They are not intended to replace professional financial, tax, legal, or medical advice. Users should always consult qualified professionals before making decisions based on tool outputs.

The AI Tax Advisor and similar AI-powered features provide general guidance based on your inputs. AI responses are generated by third-party language models and may contain inaccuracies. Do not rely on AI advisor output for tax compliance, filing, or any legally binding purpose.

We make every reasonable effort to keep our calculators accurate and up to date with current legislation, tax rates, and regulatory requirements across all supported African countries. However, you acknowledge and agree that:

• Tax laws, rates, and regulations change frequently across African jurisdictions. Rates may have changed since our last update.
• Calculator results are estimates only. Your actual tax liability, cost, or financial outcome may differ from the results shown.
• Currency exchange rates are indicative and may not reflect real-time market rates. Do not use them for trading or remittance decisions without independent verification.
• AfroTools is not liable for any financial decisions made based on calculator outputs or AI-generated advice.
• Always confirm results with the relevant revenue authority (FIRS, KRA, GRA, SARS, TRA, URA, etc.) or a qualified tax, legal, or financial professional.

AfroTools Pro is an optional paid subscription that provides access to premium features, saved calculations, enhanced AI advisory, and other benefits. By subscribing to AfroTools Pro, you agree to the following:

• Billing — subscriptions are billed monthly or annually as selected at checkout. Payments are processed by Paystack (for African currencies) or Stripe (for international payments). All prices are displayed inclusive of applicable taxes.
• Cancellation — you may cancel your subscription at any time from your dashboard. Upon cancellation, you retain access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period. No partial refunds are provided for unused time within a billing cycle.
• Refunds — we offer a full refund within 7 days of your initial subscription purchase if you are not satisfied. After the 7-day period, no refunds are issued for subscription fees. To request a refund, email hello@afrotools.com.
• Price changes — we reserve the right to adjust subscription pricing. Existing subscribers will be given at least 30 days' notice of any price increase and may cancel before the new rate applies.
• Account sharing — Pro accounts are for individual use only and may not be shared with other users or used to provide services to third parties.

AfroTools may provide application programming interfaces (APIs) for programmatic access to certain tools and data. If you use the AfroTools API, the following additional terms apply:

• API access requires a valid API key issued through your AfroTools Pro account. API keys are personal and must not be shared publicly or with unauthorised users.
• You must not exceed the rate limits specified in the API documentation. Excessive or abusive use may result in throttling or revocation of access.
• API data may be used in your own applications and services, provided you include appropriate attribution to AfroTools and do not misrepresent the data as your own proprietary content.
• AfroTools reserves the right to modify, deprecate, or discontinue API endpoints at any time with reasonable notice.
• The API is provided "as-is" without guarantees of uptime, accuracy, or availability. AfroTools is not liable for any damages resulting from API downtime or data inaccuracies.

When using AfroTools, you agree not to:

• Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to extract data or content from the Platform without prior written permission
• Frame, embed, or mirror AfroTools content within another website or application without authorisation
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or copy calculator logic, algorithms, or source code for commercial use
• Use AfroTools for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable local, national, or international law
• Interfere with or disrupt the Platform's infrastructure, servers, or networks
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts, data, or systems
• Upload malicious files or content through any tool or feature

Violation of these rules may result in immediate termination of your access to AfroTools, including any paid subscriptions, without refund.

All content on AfroTools.com — including but not limited to calculator logic, algorithms, source code, design, user interface, graphics, copy, branding, logos, and documentation — is the intellectual property of AfroTools and is protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, or commercially exploit any content from AfroTools without prior written permission from AfroTools. Limited personal, non-commercial use (such as sharing a link to a tool or referencing calculator results) is permitted.

PDF documents and other files you create or process using AfroTools remain your property. AfroTools claims no ownership or rights over user-generated content.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, AfroTools, its owners, operators, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the Platform, including but not limited to:

• Financial loss resulting from reliance on calculator outputs, AI-generated advice, or any other tool results
• Errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in tax rates, calculations, or data
• Loss of data, revenue, or business opportunities
• Service interruptions, downtime, or unavailability
• Unauthorised access to or alteration of your data

AfroTools is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount you have paid to AfroTools in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless AfroTools, its owners, operators, employees, and affiliates from and against any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to AfroTools at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we determine violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, the Platform, or third parties. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately.

If you are an AfroTools Pro subscriber, termination for cause does not entitle you to a refund of any subscription fees. You may export your saved data before termination by contacting us at hello@afrotools.com.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of AfroTools shall first be resolved through good-faith negotiation between the parties.

If a dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation within 30 days, either party may pursue resolution through mediation or, if necessary, binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the applicable jurisdiction. The language of any proceedings shall be English.

AfroTools reserves the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Registered Pro users will be notified via email of any material changes at least 14 days before they take effect.

Your continued use of the Platform after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
