Côte d'Ivoire's tax system is administered by the Direction Generale des Impots (DGI) and applies a progressive salary tax known as the Impot sur les Salaires (IS) with rates that can reach up to 60% at the highest bracket, denominated in the West African CFA Franc (XOF). VAT is levied at a standard rate of 18% on most goods and services, with exemptions for essential foodstuffs, medical products, agricultural inputs, and educational materials.
