Build an annual tax reference

Start with monthly gross employment income. Annual tax is calculated first; monthly tax is an equivalent for salary planning.

Use recurring taxable salary and employment remuneration before the modeled deductions.

Optional, 0%–6%. Keep 0% unless an approved rate appears on your payslip or is confirmed for your employment scheme.

Enter income to begin. Nothing is stored or sent.

How the estimate is built

  1. Convert monthly gross employment income to an annual amount.
  2. Subtract the user-entered approved employee contribution, if any.
  3. Apply the standard 30% professional-expense deduction to the remaining amount.
  4. Apply the seven marginal annual IRPP bands to annual taxable income.
  5. Subtract employee contribution and IRPP from gross income, then show monthly equivalents.

Special exemptions, benefits, non-employment income, employer obligations, filing adjustments and scheme-specific ceilings require separate review.

Calculation methodology

The calculator annualizes stable monthly gross income, deducts an optional user-supplied approved employee pension or social contribution from 0% to the CGI 6% collective cap, applies the standard 30% professional-expense deduction to the remaining income, then applies the seven annual marginal IRPP bands. It shows annual tax and an equal-month withholding equivalent; employer contributions are not modeled.

Known limitations

  • CGI 2023 statutory-reference planning estimate only; confirm later finance-law amendments with DGI.
  • The employee contribution rate is supplied by the user from an approved payslip or scheme and is not a default statutory-rate claim.
  • Benefits in kind, actual-expense claims, exemptions, special regimes and employer contributions require separate review.
