Use the calculator above to generate the complete livestock vaccination schedule for Niger. The tool uses locally-specific data including endemic diseases, government campaign months, and local vaccine prices from veterinary services in Niger.
Cattle: Core vaccines include FMD (every 6 months), CBPP (annually), Blackleg (annually before rainy season), and Anthrax (annually). Lumpy Skin Disease and Brucellosis are also recommended where endemic.
Goats & Sheep: PPR is the #1 killer of small ruminants — vaccinate at 4 months old, valid for 3 years. Goat/Sheep Pox and Clostridial diseases (CDT) are also core vaccines.
Poultry: Newcastle Disease vaccination is critical — use the I-2 thermostable vaccine every 3 months for village flocks. Gumboro (IBD) and Fowl Pox are also important for commercial flocks.
Many African governments including Niger provide free or subsidised vaccination campaigns for priority diseases such as FMD, PPR, CBPP, and Newcastle Disease. Contact your local veterinary office or Ministry of Agriculture district office to register your animals for government campaigns.
Cattle should be vaccinated against FMD every 6 months (bi-annually), typically in March and September. The vaccine should match the circulating serotype in your region. SAT1, SAT2, and SAT3 serotypes are Africa-specific.
Village chickens should be vaccinated against Newcastle Disease every 3 months using the I-2 thermostable vaccine, which does not require cold chain. First dose at 7 days old, booster at 21 and 56 days, then every 3 months. Newcastle Disease kills 90–100% of unvaccinated flocks.
