Fertilizer Use in Angola

Angola's fertilizer market is still developing after decades of civil conflict disrupted agricultural infrastructure. The country imports virtually all of its fertilizer, consuming approximately 30,000 to 50,000 tonnes annually, well below the needs of its arable land. Agriculture employs over 50% of the population, with smallholder farmers growing cassava, maize, beans, and coffee across the central highlands and northern provinces.
