"Every African professional, student, and entrepreneur deserves tools that actually understand their country, their currency, and their laws — not generic calculators with African flags pasted on."

AfroTools Mission Statement

The Problem

Africa deserves better than copy-paste calculators

A calculator can look polished while using an old tax band, omitting a deduction, or applying a rule outside its jurisdiction or effective period.

PAYE, social-security, relief, and rebate rules differ by country and change on different schedules. A useful result needs visible assumptions and a reviewable source trail.

AfroTools makes that context visible. Supported statutory tools identify their jurisdiction, effective period, source, review state, and planning-estimate limits.

No effective period or freshness state
Generic calculator, Nigerian flag pasted on
Ignores Consolidated Relief Allowance
No NHIF / SHIF / SSNIT integration
Named jurisdiction and effective period
Country-specific rules where supported
Source, review date, and stale state
Optional AI after consent and availability checks
Our Values

How we build

Every tool we release passes three tests before it goes live.

🎯

Accuracy First

Statutory tools should name the applicable source, jurisdiction, effective period, assumptions, and review date. Stale or incomplete evidence is labelled instead of presented as current.

🌍

Pan-African Coverage

The country registry covers 54 African jurisdictions. Individual tools state which countries and rule packs they actually support.

🔓

Free & Private

This local workflow processes its working data in your browser; AI, account sync, email, TTS, analytics, payments, and explicit cloud uploads are separate disclosed actions.

🤖

AI-Powered Insight

Deterministic routing works locally; optional AI may send the disclosed prompt or selected context to AfroTools servers and the configured provider after consent.

Speed & Simplicity

Core pages are static-first and designed for small screens and constrained connections. Browser, cache, network, and third-party dependencies still affect individual routes and offline behavior.

🏗️

Always Improving

Registry, source, route, localization, and claim checks make product states reviewable. Published changes still follow the repository's validation and release process.

32 categories, 2611 live tool experiences

We started with PAYE calculators, then expanded into VAT, health, education, documents, and other workflows. Each published record states its actual country and locale applicability.

Founder

Built by Ozaveshe

AfroTools was founded by Ozaveshe, a software engineer focused on making country-specific African calculators and workflows easier to inspect, use, and improve.

The project launched in 2025 with a country calculator and has grown to 2611 live tool experiences across the canonical country registry. Statutory tools use named sources and review metadata where those records are available; gaps and stale states remain part of the audit trail.

AfroTools is primarily static HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with optional server-backed services for AI, accounts, payments, analytics, forms, data lookups, and explicit cloud storage. Each feature's point-of-use disclosure governs what leaves the browser.
